Job Description:

ICT DESKTOP SUPPORT ENGINEER
(3 Months Fixed Term Contract)
 
Reporting to the ICT Operations Manager, the incumbent will be responsible to provide support and maintain in-house computer systems, desktops, printers and peripherals. This includes installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting end-user workstation hardware, software, printers and networking products.

Duties and responsibilities:
Assists callers with ICT problem resolution (provides 1st & 2nd line support), Manages endpoint device security and protection by installing all the necessary Anti-Virus software.
  • Sets Up workstation, laptops and phones for TIHMC staff and Clients
  • Manages Windows Software Updates on all TIHMC workstations
  • Optimise and maintain ICT services, systems, applications and operations, ensure minimum down-time and maximum usage, availability and application security
  • Receives calls telephonically or via email with regards to general network, applications and hardware problems / queries
  • Captures all calls or enquiries received on the system and issues reference number and distribute
  • Escalate to 3rd line where necessary
  • Retains record of references.
  • Monitors & reviews call status
  • Ensures Customer Satisfaction
  • Provides 1st Desktop support Telephonically
  • Provides 2nd line Desktop Support by attending to ICT queries
  • Responsible for the providing Specifications to SCM department for the sourcing of ICT equipment (Laptops, Desktops etc.)
  • Prepare Purchase Requisitions
  • Provides Managers with the following reports:
  • Helpdesk reports (daily, weekly and monthly) 
  • Monthly reports and on request
  • Printer monthly usage report
  • Purchase Requisitions report
  • Prepare portion of ICT Monthly Billing (Phones & Printers)
 
Qualifications, experience and skills requirements
IT or related Degree/Diploma,  plus 1 to 2 years’ experience within ICT environment, experience of supporting Windows Desktops and Microsoft certifications beneficial (MCSA/MCSE), knowledge of sever or networking technologies beneficial plus strong organisational skills (able to manage various tasks and projects simultaneously), proficiency at an advanced level in MS office, excellent communication skills, time management skills-ability to prioritise and adhere to deadlines and meticulous attention to detail with accuracy.
