An opportunity exists for a Project Manager to join an established and dynamic company in the Payment Services industry.  If you meet all of the requirements below please can you submit your CV to nikki@classpersonnel.co.za. Summary:
The incumbent will be required to:
  • Manage the successful delivery of a range of application development and infrastructure projects across various departments and systems – often for clients and at times with  dependencies on 3rd party partners.
  • Demonstrate pro-active leadership - driving delivery of quality transaction-centric solutions in-line with the company’s project management methodology.
  • Create clear and attainable project objectives, build project requirements and manage constraints and expectations of multiple stakeholders
 
Primary Duties: 
  • To apply and adhere to the project management principles and processes and ensuring that they are effectively applied throughout the lifecycle of the project 
  • To adhere to the PMO’smethodologies and toolsets
  • To work with Product Managers to ensure alignment of project objectives to a product’s roadmap
  • To drive delivery through pro-active leadership, team co-ordination, strong communication and positive influence
  • To work with the Product Delivery Manager to drive delivery, clarify priorities and promote visibility of progress
  • To identify and draft the Project Charter, Project Management Plan, Project Schedule and other PMO project documents as required
  • To manage the project plan and interdepartmental communications to deliver work products on time throughout the project life cycle
  • To implement an effective project control framework in order to control scope, quality, budget and mitigate for factors which could adversely impact project timelines 
  • To support, guide, motivate and facilitate the project teams through the project processes
  • To identify and manage risks and opportunities
  • To communicate project progress to management and project stakeholders
  • To undertake project reviews with stakeholders
  • To ensure compliance with relevant PCI standards and certification requirements (as required)
 
Skills and experience required:
  • At least 5 years’ project management experience is required (preference will be given to applicants with payments services/financial industry/banking experience).
  • Prince2 or PMP certified – with associated working knowledge 
  • Experienced in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies. 
  • Solid understanding of SDLC (systems development life cycle). 
  • A combination of technical and business process knowledge. 
  • People and Systems Management skills. 
  • Delivery focused with the ability to work under pressure. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication proficiency. 
  • Strong soft skills including motivation, conflict resolution, decision making, negotiation, time management, etc. 
  • Committed to achieve business results. 
  • Ability to grasp concepts of a technical nature quickly with a sound understanding of the underlying business environment. 
  • Ability to multi-task, managing several projects concurrently. 
  • Ability to take ownership and display high levels of responsibility and initiative. 
  • Ability to manage people, with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills. 
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to facilitate meetings and JAD sessions. 
  • Possesses strong leadership traits and can work with a minimum of supervision. 
  • A methodical problem solver with the ability to motivate and influence others to deliver according to tight deadlines. 
  • A positive person who embraces challenges, with a strong desire for goal achievement. 
  • High degree of self-confidence, integrity and professionalism. 
  • Acute attention to quality and detail
