Oracle BI Support Consultants required. Telco experience would be an advantage.
Duties: To ensure that, all required ETL tasks and objects are deployed and valid in Development and Production environments Switch-on tasks in Development & Production for all the modules and monitoring to ensure the availability of data in production, and all the aggregation level and dependencies are working Ensuring that ETL tasks deployed in production are in a working state and tested and monitored in production for few weeks. Perform objects checksum compare between Standard and the Development environment, as well as between the development and production environment. Check all dependencies required for solution deployment (DDL, Lookup packages, Templates, Variables, Dimensions, etc), Ensure that the development environment is in sync to production, and communicate all the relevant changes to the Development team to effect the change in STD environment. Development of specific tasks and objects in Development environment, Assist the DA (Data Analyst) with data reconciliation from source data and ensuring all the soft rules and dimensions are populated in the Development environment, Assisting in support duties as and when required to do so. Ensure that all work allocated is completed successfully. To foster Team work and knowledge sharing. To demonstrate professional conduct both internally and externally to our clients. Responsible for assisting personnel with more complex type issues Review the work accomplished by the personnel. Analyze the root cause of the incident/problem. Determine corrective measures to correct the source of the problem. Update knowledge base with resolutions If unable to determine solution, collect as much information as possible for the next line of support. Corrective Maintenance and performance monitoring reporting Track and report the status of the issues escalated to the next line of support. Ensure that SLA is achieved at all time. Exceptional reporting and Bug fixes. Required Skills and Expertise:
The above role requires the following skills, expertise and experience.
Experienced in working with Oracle database environment Advantageous to have had Oracle DBA training, or exposure to database administration concepts i.e. good physical knowledge of the database Understands how to query databases (knowledgeable re DML) Understand how to manipulate database structures (knowledgeable re DDL) Has had exposure to Unix, ideally is knowledgeable around navigating file systems and working in Unix Has understanding of operating systems generally Has had exposure or have been involved in performance tuning of Oracle databases Systems thinking - the ability to see how parts interact with the whole (big picture thinking) Good Problem-solving skills – can demonstrate a logical approach to solving issues. Communicates clearly both written and oral. Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand Time management and prioritization, and is able to manage delivery expectations Ideally has had exposure to the telecommunication industry and has an awareness of telecommunication industry concepts Knowledge of IT governance and operations Interpersonal and leadership skills – collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills Displays consulting skills – professionalism and client focused Has awareness of Software Development Life cycle
