Job Description:

Objective
You will be responsible for managing, shaping and motivating several development teams. As such, you will be involved in mentoring and coaching according to Agile principles, working with teams as well as individuals to ensure smooth operations and maintain an optimal working environment.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
 
Team Management
  • Provide vision and leadership to several multifunctional product development teams
  • Conduct regular performance appraisals with the teams and assist in setting targets and objectives
  • Recognise good performance, identify and manage underperformance, and represent development teams at senior management level
  • Ensure that development teams are performing at their best, fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration
  • Regularly report development team utilisation and velocity, thereby identifying longer-term resource needs
  • Collaborate with the Head of Software Development and the various Team Leads on improving and implementing processes and workflows to support the smooth operation of the development teams
 
Project Management
  • Develop project plans and objectives for the teams alongside the Product Manager
  • Identify project risks, manage project schedules and budgets, and solve project conflicts
  • Manage Team Leads to enable delegation and resource control within the project life cycle
  • Keep teams motivated and engaged in their projects
 
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications
  • At least 5 years leading or managing a development team with demonstrable skills of project delivery
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Experience with project management (essential)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Knowledge of managing and motivating employees, and executing performance management reviews
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking
  • A self-starter – able to act on own initiative and demonstrate drive and determination
  • Highly motivated and a fast learner who can adapt to change
  • Good organisational and time management skills
