Job Description:

Product Owner: Domain Administration

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Product Owner who will be responsible for the competitive evolution of our Domain Name Administration system.

You will lead a team of engineers in product requirements and priorities. The scope includes the maintenance of in-house developed and 3rd party web applications, providing innovative tools to the power user, ensuring a seamless, intuitive hosting experience to our customers.

Product delivery is multi-faceted, including platform - and software engineering, UX, customer workflow, pricing, marketing, customer service, legal aspects and the product discipline itself.

We are passionate about frequent, iterative delivery of high-quality software and aim to build lasting solutions using agile principles. You will develop knowledge of the domain administration system with exposure and the support of internal stakeholders to become an expert over time.

Our preferred location for this role is in Durbanville, South Africa and we would explore your availability to relocate if required.

What You’ll Do

  • Articulate and evolve the Domain Administration team’s vision.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the organization to make sure that you and the team provides for the company’s short- and long-term goals.
  • Make sure that your team is strong and healthy - including capabilities, happiness, resilience and growth.
  • Work relentlessly to make sure your team is doing the right things, while not spreading too thinly. A healthy balance of innovation, support and maintenance is key for all successful teams.
  • Manage your own and the team’s availability - given stakeholders across the globe, we sometimes need to join/host meetings outside typical office hours.

Requirements

Who You Are
  • You are a team player who finds accomplishments of others as gratifying as your own and feels the same level of commitment, as the team, to team goals.
  • You are an interdisciplinary thinker, skilled at blending different perspectives in pursuit of a mission.
  • You are structured and give close attention to details.
  • You are an excellent problem solver to design simple, iterative solutions.
  • You are skilled at analysing priorities, processes and writing user stories.
  • You are an excellent communicator and storyteller, engaging with your audience on a personal level.
  • You are good at aligning with legal requirements.
  • You have a positive and results-focused “can-do” attitude.
  • You are willing to be outspoken.
  • You are good at sorting out ambiguity.
  • You have a good understanding of the software development cycle.
  • You are persistent and rational in that you put facts above speculation.
